Machali’s Greatest Daughter
Krishna (T-19) is the most famous daughter of Machali and a conservation icon in her own right. Born in 2007, Krishna inherited her mother’s beauty, intelligence, and territorial instincts. But what truly set Krishna apart was her extraordinary achievement as a mother — raising five cubs in a single litter, a feat rarely seen in the wild.
The Five Cubs Miracle
In 2015, Krishna gave birth to five cubs — Arrowhead (T-84), Riddhi (T-124), Sidhi (T-125), and two males. Raising five cubs simultaneously in the wild is an enormous challenge, as it requires hunting almost daily to feed the growing family. Yet Krishna managed it with remarkable skill.
All five cubs survived to sub-adulthood, which is an exceptional success rate. Of these, Arrowhead became the most famous, inheriting her grandmother Machali’s territory and fame.
Conservation Legacy
Krishna’s contribution to Ranthambore’s tiger population is immeasurable:
- Raised 5 cubs in one litter — one of the rarest achievements for a wild tigress
- Daughter Arrowhead (T-84) became the new queen of Zones 3-4
- Daughter Riddhi (T-124) established territory in Zone 6
- Her bloodline (through Machali) is the most dominant in the park
Disappearance & Legacy
Krishna was last regularly sighted around 2020, and park authorities believe she has either moved to a secluded area or passed away naturally. Regardless, her genetic legacy lives on powerfully through her children and grandchildren, who now dominate some of the best zones in Ranthambore.
“Krishna proved that a mother’s strength is the greatest force in nature. Her five cubs are her monument — living, breathing proof that conservation works.”
